IAAP Judge Durkin to address Yo-Mah-O Chapter event



The dinner will be April 21 at Antone's.
BOARDMAN -- Judge John Durkin will be the featured speaker when Yo-Mah-O Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals holds its Administrative Professionals' Week and Executive Night banquet April 21 at Antone's Banquet Centre.
The event, in association with Office Team, will start with a social time at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6.

The speaker
Judge Durkin has served in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court since being elected in 1997. He established the Mahoning County Felony Drug Court and presides over it along with his regular docket. The U.S. Department of Justice recognized the endeavor as a Mentor Court Program.
He is a past president of the Mahoning County Bar Association, for which he serves on the board of trustees, and is past chairman of the Certified Grievance Committee.
Judge Durkin was named Lawyer of the Year in 1997. He received the Community Corrections Association Public Service Award, the Community Service Award from TASC and the Peace Award from the Mayors Task Force on Crime and Violence.
He earned a bachelor's degree and juris doctorate from the University of Dayton. Judge Durkin has served on the faculty of the Ohio Judicial Conference and serves on its executive committee. He has lectured for Mahoning County and Ohio State bar associations, National Association of Drug Court Professionals and Ohio Judicial Conference.
