YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State's doubleheader with Binghamton today has been canceled due to unplayable field conditions. The Penguins will travel to Akron on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown State-Illinois-Chicago three-game Horizon League series this weekend has been canceled due to poor weather conditions. The Penguins play host to Kent State on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at McCune Park in Canfield.

Poland's O'Halloranto kick for Malone
POLAND -- Poland High kicker Shawn O'Halloran has signed a letter of intent to continue kicking at Malone College.
O'Halloran, the son of Ken and Gwen O'Halloran, was a first-team All-Ohio selection for the Bulldogs. He also received the Archie Griffin award.
Harding's Phiniseeto play at Walsh
NORTH CANTON -- Joe Phinisee, a senior at Warren Harding High School, will continue his football career at Walsh University in the fall. Phinisee is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound defensive back.
Hulea to speakat East High banquet
BOARDMAN -- Paul Hulea, Poland High football coach, will be the guest speaker at the 16th annual East High All-Sports Hall of Fame Banquet on April 25 at 6 p.m. at Mr. Anthony's.
Hulea is the son of Nick Hulea, who played football for East High and Youngstown State and is a member of the East Hall of Fame.

Women's bowlingtourney entries
YOUNGSTOWN -- Entries for the Youngstown Women's Bowling Association's 62nd city tournament and fifth annual 9-pin no-tap tournament close today.
The city tournament's four-woman team event will be at Boardman Lanes, while singles and doubles events are slated for Holiday Bowl. Entry fee is $16. The city tourney runs May 8-15.
The no-tap is a three-woman team event at Boardman. The fee is also $16. The 9-pin runs May 7-15. Entries and fees are payable to the YWBA, 2703 Mahoning Ave., Suite 101, Youngstown, 44509.

BETHANY, W.Va. -- The baseball doubleheader between Bethany and Westminster, scheduled to be played at Westminster today, has been moved to Bethany due to poor field conditions.
The first game will begin at 1 p.m. at Bethany Park. Sunday's single game, which had been scheduled to be played at Bethany, will be at Westminster if weather permits.

* SARVER, Pa. -- Friday's races at Lernerville Speedway were rained out and action will pick up April 9 at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the regular card, modified races will be added.

CLEVELAND -- All tickets for the Cleveland Indians home opener on April 12 against the Minnesota Twins have been sold.
This marks the 11th consecutive home sellout for the Tribe. Single-game tickets are still available for the remaining 80 games.

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. -- Two hours before his semifinal, Andy Roddick warmed up on the stadium court, barely breaking a sweat on a cool evening as he traded groundstrokes with coach Brad Gilbert.

Playing nearly flawless tennis against an overmatched opponent, he advanced to the final of the Nasdaq-100 Open for the first time Friday by beating Vince Spadea 6-1, 6-3.
