Paul Wilson allowed two runs over five innings in his final spring training outing for Cincinnati. Wilson, the Reds' No. 2 starter, gave up five hits. D'Angelo Jimenez led off the game with a homer. Josh Towers, Toronto's fifth starter, allowed two runs and six hits in 4 2-3 innings. Carlos Delgado went 2-for-2 and is hitting .351 this spring.

Manny Ramirez hit a three-run homer and had four RBIs to lift the Red Sox. Atlanta starter Mike Hampton gave up five runs and seven hits in three innings, lifting his spring training ERA from 4.05 to 5.48. Boston's Derek Lowe, making his last spring start before pitching Wednesday at Baltimore, allowed three hits and two earned runs in 3 2-3 innings.

Jason Bowers's three-run homer and Kevin Witt's grand slam highlighted a seven-run fifth inning for the Redbirds. Jason Ryan pitched five innings for the win, allowing one run on three hits and striking out three. Cardinals starter Woody Williams pitched 41/3 innings, giving up five hits and four earned runs. St. Louis shortstop Edgar Renteria left the game in the top of the fifth after he was hit above the right eye with his own foul ball. Renteria, who suffered a minor bruise, wasn't expected to miss any games because of the injury, according to the team.

Brad Penny pitched six innings and gave up four hits, three walks and two runs while striking out five, earning the win for Florida. Luis Castillo added two hits and three runs scored for the Marlins. Steve Trachsel gave up six runs, three unearned, and eight hits in five innings for the Mets.
