Lawsuit filed in woman's Howland death

WARREN -- The executor of the estate of a woman killed in an August crash in Howland Township has filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
Donald C. Dietrich of Boonville, Ind., executor of the estate of Vickie Lynn Dietrich, formerly of Poland, filed the lawsuit Thursday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
The suit, which does not identify the executor's relationship to Dietrich, was assigned to Judge Andrew Logan. No hearing date has been set.
The suit, which is seeking more than $25,000 in damages, names Ohio Container Service of Cleveland and Jagdeep Singh of New York as defendants. Neither could be reached.
The suit says Singh was operating a tractor-trailer on Aug. 25, 2003, and was driving on state Route 82 in Howland Township. The rig was owned by Ohio Container Service.
The tractor-trailer collided with a vehicle driven by Dietrich, 50. She died shortly after the crash.
Singh was convicted last month of one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. He received 10 days in jail.
