COLUMBIANA CORNER Open house set at career center



Parents of current and future Columbiana County Career and Technical Center students are invited to an open house 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the school.
Parent-teacher conferences will take place, post-secondary financial aid information will be provided and each parent or guardian will receive a ticket for door prize drawings. Door prizes include a portable stereo and fee or supply scholarship for 2004-05 classes, a value of up to $300.
Kindergarten screening
Columbiana village schools staff is scheduling appointments for kindergarten screening for the 2004-05 school year. Kindergarten screening will be by appointment 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. May 4, 5 and 6 at Joshua Dixon Elementary.
Parents or guardians should expect to spend an hour or more at the school with the child. Documents needed are a birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization record, proof of residence in the school district, and custody papers, if applicable.
Parents or guardians who wish to enroll children in kindergarten classes at Columbiana through open enrollment must start the process at the superintendent's office in the middle school-high school complex. Open enrollment forms must be completed before kindergarten screening day.
