CONTESTS
3-point-goal: Dan Bertolini of Poland High won the boys 3-point-goal shooting contest by making 15 shots in one minute, edging Colin Clemente of Warren JFK with 14. Steffi Graf of Poland won the girls 3-point shootout contest as she connected on 15 of 25 shots.
Slam dunk: Jonte' Stroud of Warren Harding won the slam-dunk contest with two top-rated dunks, while Chris Wire of Boardman gained runner-up honors by edging Bradley Fletcher.
AWARDS
Boys Coaches of the Year: Brian Clark (Sebring), Ken Grisdale (Poland), Burt Stellers (Liberty), Nick Bellino (Cardinal Mooney) and Steve Miller (Western Reserve).
Girls Coaches of the Year: Ron Moschella (Boardman), Sean Durkin (Ursuline), Steve Stewart (Salem), Sandi Kohler (Springfield), Tanja Simione (Crestview), Tony Matisi (Lowellville) and Holly Seimetz (Rayen).
Girls state Championship teams: Ursuline and West Branch.
MVCA "Contribution to Sports:" Tony DelBene, a former area basketball, football, track and golf coach and Girard High athletic director, who was a member of the Mahoning Valley Coaches Association for more than 30 years. DelBene is retired and lives in Las Vegas.
