Masons honor former Youngstown man



LINDSTROM, Minn. -- Gerald E. Rhoads of Lindstrom, Minn., formerly of Youngstown and Austintown, was installed as Grand Master of Masons in Minnesota on March 27 and will make an official visit May 25 to Meander Lodge 765, North Jackson, where he was a member.
A member of the Scottish Rite bodies and York Rite, Rhoads is a member of the Bagpipe Band of the Osman Shrine in St. Paul, Minn., and a member of the Red Cross of Constantine.
A recipient of the Hiram Award and a Knight Commander of the Court of Honor, Rhoads was elevated to the 33rd degree of the Scottish Rite in 2001.
A son of Helen Rhoads of Canfield and the late Edwin L. Rhoads, and a graduate of Youngstown State University and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, Rhoads was employed many years at Lane Funeral Homes in the Youngstown area. Rhoads and his wife, Debbie, have four children and live in Lindstrom.
