Colorado's Preston Wilson, who didn't play in an exhibition game until Sunday because of a sore left knee, homered in his third straight game. He hit a three-run homer off John Lackey in the third. Lackey, who was named the fifth starter in Anaheim's rotation earlier Wednesday, got the win despite allowing eight hits and five runs in six innings. Denny Stark got the loss, giving up six runs -- five earned -- and six hits in five innings.

The outing still was the best performance of the spring for Nomo, who entered the game with an 0-4 record and 8.34 ERA. Grant Roberts, competing for the fifth spot in the Mets' rotation, gave up seven runs in five innings. Mike Piazza had three hits and two RBI for New York.
