Follow these guidelines when working with strippers and stains:
Don't use chemical strippers in a home with an infant, pregnant woman or sick person.
Work in a well ventilated area. Outside on the driveway is best, or in the garage with the garage door open.
Don't smoke or work near an open flame.
Wear safety glasses or goggles.
Wear solvent-rated gloves.
Use a semi-paste stripper so it doesn't run everywhere.
Keep a bucket of water nearby to throw used rags into.
