EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Scott Gomez and Eric Rasmussen had two goals apiece and Martin Brodeur got his 75th shutout as New Jersey tied Philadelphia for the lead in the Atlantic Division. The Devils' Pat Burns (500-366-151) became the ninth coach to reach 500 wins, tying him with Toe Blake. Igor Larionov also scored, and Brodeur made 24 saves for the Devils.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Sergei Samsonov scored the go-ahead goal in the second period, and Boston moved into sole possession of first place in the Northeast Division. Joe Thornton and Martin Lapointe also had goals, and Felix Potvin made 21 saves for the Bruins.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- David Legwand had a goal and two assists, Vladimir Orszagh and Martin Erat a goal and an assist each as Nashville kept alive its bid for the franchise's first playoff berth. Adam Hall and Scott Walker also scored for Nashville. Tuomo Ruutu had both goals for Chicago.

ST. LOUIS -- Doug Weight scored his first goal in 18 games and Chris Osgood got his 41st career shutout as St. Louis won its fourth straight game. Edmonton, beaten for the first time in more than a month, had earned at least in points in 16 straight games.
