PEOPLE TO PEOPLE
United Kingdom visit
Fifty-five local high school and middle school pupils have been selected to travel to the United Kingdom this summer through the People to People Student Ambassador program. The pupils will visit England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales between July 17 and Aug. 2. People to People was created by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1960 and is designed to promote good will among nations and expand the world view of the pupils involved. Pupils also can earn high school and university credit through the program. They are nominated to participate in People to People by schools, civic organizations and program alumni.
Leaders for the high-school group will be Gary and Sandie Reel of Austintown and Gina Pallo of Youngstown.
