When Thelma (Geena Davis) and Louise (Susan Sarandon) set out on the road in a 1966 T-bird, all they really want is a fun weekend away from the men in their lives. Thelma's fed up with her domineering husband. Louise wants to put some pressure on her fearful-of-commitment boyfriend. Both wouldn't mind a little adventure. But after Louise shoots a man who attacks Thelma in the parking lot of an Arkansas honky-tonk, our heroines find themselves with more adventure than they can handle in "Thelma & amp; Louise" (8 p.m., CMT).
Stranded at an out-of-the-way motel when a storm hits, travelers hardly have time to get to know each other. Someone seems to be intent on killing them, one at a time. "Identity" (8 p.m., HBO), a 2003 thriller, stars John Cusack, Ray Liotta, Amanda Peet and John Hawkes.
Out-of-work dads (Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin) open a day-care center in competition with the staid academy where they can no longer afford to send their sons. The result is "Daddy Day Care" (9 p.m., Starz), which is less than orderly, but OK for family viewing.
A new animated series, "Danny Phantom" (9:30 p.m., Nickelodeon) features the character of Danny Phantom, a shy high-school freshman who leads a double life as heroic phantom-fighter with ghostly super powers. His chums and cohorts in ghost-busting are Tucker, a techno-geek, and Goth girl Sam.
Donald Trump goes from his job on "The Apprentice" to a job as host of "Saturday Night Live" (11:30 p.m., NBC).
