Representative of village will conduct income survey in Lowellville

LOWELLVILLE -- A village representative will go door-to-door beginning this weekend to conduct personal income surveys of residents in an area earmarked for improvements using community development block grant funds.
The target area is Watson Street and the entire south side of the village.
Personal income surveys are required to determine investment areas within the village that would qualify for the grants.
Residents polled must provide annual household income and the number of residents in their households.
CDBG funds may be used for infrastructure improvements including upgrades to waterlines and sanitary sewers, curbs, streets, sidewalks and parks. Demolition and housing rehabilitation may also be included in CDBG projects.
May 7 is the deadline for the village to submit completed income surveys to the Mahoning County Special Projects Office for preparation of an income summary that will be used to apply for CDBG funding.
