Lecture series to lead off with Richard Simmons



WARREN -- The 27th annual Trumbull Town Hall Celebrity series will begin next fall with the man who popularized "Sweatin' to the Oldies."
Fitness expert Richard Simmons will speak at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 6 at W.D. Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. N.W. Three other speakers have been confirmed for the 2004-2005 season. They are: scholar and performer Dr. Elliot Engel on "Our Slippery Mother Tongue: A Life History of English," 10:30 a.m. Nov. 10; prosecutor and author Vincent Bugliosi, who successfully argued for the conviction of mass murderer Charles Manson, at 10:30 a.m. March 2, 2005; and actor Larry Hagman, best known for portraying J.R. Ewing on the long-running TV series "Dallas," 10:30 a.m. April 6.
Season tickets are on sale for $45 through June 1. In addition, those who buy season tickets immediately also will earn a free ticket to the final Trumbull Town Hall lecture of this season, by singing actress Ann Blyth, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Packard Music Hall. After June 1, season tickets will cost $50.
