Speakers to discuss ethical issues

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Thiel College, UPMC Horizon and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will host a Community Medical Ethics Project Tuesday in the Lutheran Heritage Room of Thiel's Howard Miller Student Center.
Two sessions, 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., are available.
The goal is to offer people in the community an opportunity to gain a basic understanding of medical ethics so they can be better prepared for making important decisions in life and death issues in health care.
Dr. David F. Kelly, a professor of theology and health care ethics at Duquesne University and founding director of the Duquesne University Health Care Ethics Center, will address the topic of stem cell research.
His presentation, "What Does 'Monkeying Around' with Genes Mean for Humans?" will be offered in both sessions.
Anyone interested in attending should register by calling Shirley Myers at UPMC Horizon at (724) 589-6640.
