Running back Corey Manfull triggers United's 60-6 romp



HANOVERTON -- Corey Manfull rushed just five times but picked up 130 yards and scored four touchdowns Friday, as the United Local High football team routed Sebring 60-6 in a Tri-County League game.
The game was called with 3:14 remaining in the third quarter due to lightning.
Manfull scored on runs of 10, 34 and 76 yards, and returned a punt 35 yards for a tally for the Eagles (5-1, 3-0).
He also caught three balls for 54 yards.
United quarterback Mitch Phillis went 8-for-9 passing for 135 yards.
Jason Bowman ran three times for 43 yards and scored touchdowns of 14 and 4 yards.
Josh Hines scored a 75 yard touchdown for the Trojans (1-5, 0-3).
Lisbon 21, Southern 10
SALINEVILLE -- The Blue Devils got big plays from Jay Yorty and Jeremaine Lewis in their TCL victory over Southern.
Yorty returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown and Lewis returned an interception 27 yards as Lisbon (5-1, 2-1) overcame a 10-7 halftime deficit.
Yorty also ran 10 times for 63 yards and completed 7-of-14 passes for 75 yards. R.J. Wills made four catches for 20 yards.
For Southern (1-5, 0-3), Nate Jones had 46 yards rushing on 14 carries, and quarterback Randy Pitts was 8-of-19 for 83 yards. Nick Puckett added three catches for 30 yards.
Leetonia 20, East Palestine 0
EAST PALESTINE -- Matt Custer ran 63 and 9 yards to a pair of first-quarter touchdowns, and Aaron Merrill added other TD on a 5-yard dash inn the final quarter, to pace Leetonia (5-1, 2-1). Merrill also kicked two extra points. East Palestine is 1-5 and 1-2.
