MERCER 3 Ohioans get prison sentences for theft
They stole jeans, shirts, shoes and other apparel.
MERCER, Pa. -- A Cleveland trio were given prison terms for a shoplifting spree that netted them more than $5,000 in merchandise.
Judge Thomas Dobson of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced the three Friday for the March 22 crime at Prime Outlets, state Route 208, Springfield Township.
Darrick Triplett, 36, and Carla Johnson, 35, were sentenced to one to two years. Kelley Walker, 32, will serve nine to 18 months.
Walker and Johnson pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking, and Triplett pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy to theft by unlawful taking, also a misdemeanor.
The three were caught with jeans, shirts, shoes and other apparel.
Others
Several others were also sentenced Thursday:
UCarl Claypoole, 30, of Karns City, two years' probation for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor.
UJames McGary, 21, of Diamond Street, Mercer, 36 months' probation for receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking, both misdemeanors. According to court documents, he was apprehended April 9 trying to pass a stolen check at a Greenville bank. Then on April 16, he stole a cell phone and charger and made 179 unauthorized calls. McGary was also sentenced to time already served for theft by deception, a misdemeanor, for using a credit card without permission to buy $182 worth of goods at several Greenville businesses last April.
UTheresa Neely, 34, of Rose Avenue, Masury, Ohio, a year's probation for theft from a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. According to court documents, she stole miscellaneous items worth more than $200 from several vehicles parked on Sharon streets last December.
URichard Rohrer, 27, of Bell Road, Grove City, a year's probation for criminal attempt/unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and theft from a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors. In April, according to court documents, he tried to enter a car without the consent of the owner and also took an ignition key, on South Broad Street, Grove City.
URobert Rowe Jr., 20, of Reynolds Industrial Park Road, Greenville, 15 months' probation for resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. He resisted Sharon police officers' attempts to handcuff him at a Spruce Street address in Sharon.
UChristine Zomparelli, 33, of West Ridge Avenue, Sharpsville, one to 12 months in jail followed by one year's probation for simple assault and possession of paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. According to court documents, on March 8 at a North Sharpsville Avenue, Sharon, address, she threw another woman to the ground, slammed her on the ground several times, and hit her head on the ground and against a parked vehicle. The victim suffered bruises. Zomparelli was also found in possession of a copper screen commonly used for smoking crack cocaine.
