ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOWS
XPymatuning Community Hall will sponsor an autumn craft show from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the North Shenango Community Center, Route 285, Espyville, Pa. Admission is $1 for adults and free to children under 12. A luncheon menu will be available, and door prizes will be awarded every half-hour beginning at 9:30.
XSt. Benedict's Auxiliary of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church will sponsor a craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 at Sts. Peter and Paul School, East Market and Belvedere N.E., Warren. There will be raffles, a Chinese auction and a variety of foods, including stuffed cabbage, pizza, pirogi, cabbage and noodles, hot dogs and a Baba dinner. XSt. Charles Home and School Association will sponsor a fall craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Father Haidet Hall, 7345 Westview Drive, off Route 224, Boardman. More than 50 local crafters will be featured along with a gift raffle, bake sale, money tree raffle and refreshments. Proceeds benefit St. Charles students. Admission and parking are free.
XCraft vendors are needed for St. Jude Women's Guild's annual craft show planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at St. Jude Activity Center, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana. BAZAARS
XJohn Calvin-St. Paul United Church of Christ, corner of Mathews and Sheridan roads, will hold a bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Featured will be a Christmas corner, crafts, a country store, trash, and treasures. A raffle will be held, and wedding soup, sandwiches, desserts and coffee will be available.
BOOK SALES
XFriends of the Hubbard Public Library will sponsor a fall book sale beginning with a preview night from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a $5 donation for admission. Admission is free to the general sale to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and for the bargain sale ($2 per bag) from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Hardcover books are priced at $1 each with children's books and paperbacks offered at 25 cents each.
CARD PARTIES
XAltar Rosary Society of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard will hold a card party from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the parish center, 325 N. Main St. Tickets are $4 and include door prizes, 50-50 raffle and luncheon. Patrons are asked to take cards and dabbers.
XThe Infant Guild of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, will hold the annual bingo and card party at 2 p.m. Sunday in the church hall. Cost is $4. A light lunch will be served.
FESTIVALS
XWestern Reserve Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will hold an autumn festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Chicken dinners will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children 4 to 10 and free for those 3 and under. Fall items such as pumpkins, cornstalks and gourds and light refreshments will be available. Tables are available for vendors for $10. FUND-RAISERS
XEaster Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties will being the annual Halloween basket raffle Wednesday. The event will run through Oct. 29. Each basket is filled with Halloween decorations and candy, and is valued at over $125. Tickets are $1 each, and may be purchased at various locations throughout the area. XHeadPin Bar and Grill, 504 Mulbury St., East Liverpool, will sponsor an Angels on Motorcycles poker run as a benefit for cancer patient Bonnie Rankin Thomas. The event will begin and end at the bar and grill, where bowling will be available all day for $2 a game and food will be served. There will also be door prizes, a Chinese auction, 50-50 raffle and entertainment. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the ride is from noon to 6 p.m. The fee is $10 a person. XUSO of Northern Ohio, 9199 Market Place, Cleveland, is sponsoring a motorcycle poker run Saturday to raise money to send items to troops overseas. The event will begin at 10 a.m. at Razzles, 27128 Bagley Road, Olmsted Township, and end at the Chagrin Falls Armory, 7600 E. Washington St., The event will include refreshments, music and a corn roast. The cost is $15 for a single or $25 a couple. XEast Palestine Centenary United Methodist Church, 40 S. Market St., will hold a rummage sale from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. A dollar-a-bag day will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
