YOUNGSTOWN -- Mount Olive F.B.H. Church will celebrate the first anniversary of Henry Cobbs, elder, during an 11:30 a.m. service Oct. 5.
Satellite seminar
YOUNGSTOWN -- Christ Church Presbyterian will host a seminar, "Next Door Savior," featuring Max Lucado from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 5. Lucado will examine Jesus' life from birth through resurrection. For information or to register, call (330) 782-2611.
In mid-October, the church will offer two video/discussion programs: "Bringing Up Boys," featuring Dr. James Dobson, and "The Purpose Driven Life," featuring Pastor Rick Warren.
Harvest Day celebration
VILLA MARIA, Pa. -- The Sisters of Humility of Mary's EverGreen and Land Management ministries will celebrate the harvest from 1 to 5 p.m. next Saturday at Villa Maria. Lunch is from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by Frank Romeo who will present "Sharing the Harvest."
Hayrides, pumpkin carving, herbs, crafts, music, wool carding and weaving demonstrations, farm tours, hikes along nature trails and games will be featured.
Organic produce, pumpkins, mums, straw bales, cornstalks, crafts and homemade candles will be offered for sale.

Gospel trio to perform
LIBERTY -- The Pathfinders, a Southern gospel trio, will perform at Church Hill United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Sunday. The Church Hill United Methodist praise team will precede Pathfinders' performance at 6:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. Offerings will be accepted.

WARREN -- Elim Christian Center will celebrate Pastor Loretta Pernice at 7 p.m. Thursday to next Saturday and at 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at the center.
Life chains
YOUNGSTOWN -- The office of Pro-Life Activities of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown and Mahoning County Right to Life will mark Respect Life Sunday Oct. 5 by holding annual life chain events at these locations:
Ucorner of Market Street and Midlothian Boulevard in Youngstown from 2 to 3 p.m.
U Warren Plaza in Warren from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Ucorner of Dressler and Everhard in Canton from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
UPortage County courthouse in Ravenna from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The life chain is a peaceful public witness to the value of every human life. It is an ecumenical event open to the public.

Anniversary celebration

Weekend retreat
VILLA MARIA, Pa. -- The Sisters of Humility of Mary's EverGreen ministry will hold a weekend retreat, "The Zen of Handmade Paper," with Rosemarie Huart from 7 p.m. Oct. 24 through noon Oct. 26 at Villa Maria Community Center.
Participants will explore the world of handmade paper related to the spiritual journey, learning to form paper with plant fibers, color pulp with pigment and embed objects.
