ASSOCIATIONS
XHubbard Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will hold a membership drive at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at Frankie's Main Street Cafe Banquet Room in Hubbard. Women who work or are retired are invited as guests of the chapter free of charge with a reservation; Hubbard residency is not required for membership. XYoungstown Branch of the American Association of University Women will meet at 10 a.m. Oct. 4 at Park Vista, 146 Fifth Ave. Dr. Lynn Yakubov will discuss and show a video on a trip to El Savador. Hostesses will be Mary Byrd Clark, Kathleen Johnson and Marilyn Scott.
CLUBS
XCalon Lan Welsh Club will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Georgeanna Parker Activity Center, Boardman Township Park. Plans will be made for the upcoming card party scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 8.
XWarren Women's Connection will hold an "Autumn Delights" breakfast buffet and program from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Oct. 13 at Aulizio's Banquet Center, 4395 Youngstown Road. Catherine Kaulvack and Bob Antos are on the program, and Rose Britner of Fremont will speak on "From Total Rejection to Total Acceptance." The cost is $10. Reservations are due by Oct. 9. XYoungstown South Christian Women's Club will hold a "Fall is On the Way" luncheon from noon to 1:45 p.m. Oct. 9 at Antone's Banquet Centre in Boardman. LIBRARY FRIENDS
XFriends of the Poland Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 7 in the library meeting room for coffee and refreshments, and a meeting will follow at 10. Guest speaker will be Marykaye Bunyoff, membership director of the new D.D. and Velma Davis Family YMCA, 45 McClurg Road, Boardman. Hostesses will be Gretchen Murphy, Jean McComb, Kay Tkach and Ritchie Jones. Guests are welcome.
RELIGIOUS GROUPS
XChurch Women United of Warren will meet at 11 a.m. Friday at Riverside Square, the former St. Joseph Hospital, for Ecumenical Day. Participants will tour the SCOPE center. Lunch will be served at noon; the cost is $1.50. For information call (330) 889-3765 or (330) 399-8591.
XDiocesan Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will have a day of recollection Oct. 15 at St. Stanislaus Church in Youngstown. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10 and installation of officers and lunch. Cost for lunch is $8. Guest speaker will be Sr. Marguerite Holz on "Women in the Church." There also will be a Chinese auction. XImmaculate Heart of Mary Altar and Rosary Society will meet for a casserole dinner at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 in the school social hall. Members are asked to take a food item or donate $5. Reservations should be made by calling Fran Hurayt at (330) 799-1796 or Adeline Suhovecky, (330) 792-1099.

SINGLES
XD.A.R.E. members will meet at 7:30 p.m. Sunday for a dance at Choices at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex. Cost is $4. Dance lessons with Judy Conti are planned for 7 p.m. Tuesday at a cost of $5. A new-member meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
XA meeting of the Original Christian Singles will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 at Glenwood Methodist Church in Boardman. SUPPORT GROUPS
XYoungstown Lupus Support Group is recognizing October as National Lupus Awareness Month with a special educational and informative meeting at noon Oct. 7 at the YWCA. The meeting will feature speakers from the Lupus Center for Excellence at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Members of the medical community and the general public are welcome. The group meets from noon to 2 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month.
