The Chamberlains mark jubilee at poolside party
XAUSTINTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Richard Chamberlain, 3701 Bryant Drive, were honored during a poolside buffet Aug. 31 at the clubhouse at the Summit of St. Andrews in Canfield.
Hosts for the event were the honorees' son and daughter-in-law, Bradley A. and Jeanette Chamberlain of Canfield.
Surprise guests were the honorees' other children, Sgt. Keith E. Chamberlain, who is serving with the U.S. Marine Corps at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, Russia, and Major Elizabeth A. Kuhl, who is serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq.
The former Patricia M. Cavan and Mr. Chamberlain were married Sept. 4, 1953, at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chicago and came to the Youngstown area in 1969.
Mr. and Mrs. Chamberlain attend Boardman Christian Church, where she is an elder and he is in the choir. They also are members of the Noteables singing group of AARP Chapter 4339 and Ohio Cultural Alliance.
Mrs. Chamberlain is involved in the Master Gardener Program at Mill Creek Park in Youngstown and is a member of Austintown Homemakers Club.
Mr. Chamberlain, who served from 1950-52 in the U.S. Army 45th Division Reconnaissance Company during the Korean War, joined General Motors Corp. in 1955 at the Fisher Body Plant in Marion, Ind. He was transferred to the division's central office in 1964 as divisional auditor and in 1969 came to the Lordstown complex as a general supervisor in the accounting department. He retired in 1983. He also is active in the Saxon Club Concordia Chorus and Salary Retirees Club.
The family circle includes five grandchildren.
