PREP SOCCER Boardman, Fitch win Federal League games



UNIONTOWN -- Danielle Storey scored two goals as the Austintown Fitch High girls soccer team blanked Uniontown Lake 5-0 in a Federal League game Wednesday.
Jodi Bowlen, Kelly Croysdale and Kristi Brendlinger each had a goal for the Falcons (7-3-2, 3-1-1 FL).
Nikki DelQuadri, Sarah Vaughn, Sarah Baker and Dina Harris each assisted on a Fitch goal.
Fitch had 38 shots in the game while Lake (3-9-1, 0-5) had just 10.
Boardman 2, Canton GlenOak 1
CANTON -- With three minutes to play, Caitlyn Hackett scored from in close for the Spartans (7-1-2, 3-0-2 FL). Katie Stoll assisted on the winning goal.
Sarah Grabert scored in the first half for the Spartans, who were tied at 1 at the break.
Boardman out-shot GlenOak 12-11.
Poland 10, Alliance 1
ALLIANCE -- Senior Krista Ginnetti and freshman Maureen Malone each scored three goals for Poland (8-1-2, 6-1 Metro Athletic Conference).
Senior Britt Davis scored two while junior Julianne Noll and freshman Samantha Stanich had one apiece.
Alliance (1-8-1, 0-5) goalkeepers made 19 saves; 16 by junior Stacie Weimer and three by sophomore Gena Roller.
Liberty 3, Maplewood 1
CORTLAND -- Brittny Humphrey scored two goals to give her 98 for her career, as the Leopards improved to 4-7-1. Amy Banner scored Liberty's other goal while goalkeeper Brianna Hideg made eight saves.
Boys
VIENNA -- Craig Schrecengost of Mathews scored his first goal of the season with 4.5 seconds remaining to give Mathews (2-7-3) a 2-2 tie with Crestview.
Jake Day scored off an assist by Steve Graora for Mathews' other goal. Mustangs goalkeeper Brett Ford made 12 saves and Drew Himes made one.
Crestview jumped out to a 2-0 lead at halftime on goals by Cory Leeson and Daniel Jones. Rebels goalkeeper Allen Kay made 16 saves.
