MERCER COUNTY Judge sentences Ind. woman to prison in felony drug case



Other cases involved aggravated assault, theft and forgery.

MERCER -- An Indiana woman was given a prison term for heroin and cocaine possession Tuesday in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
Regina Brantley, 30, of Fort Wayne, was sentenced to three to 10 years by Judge Francis Fornelli. Brantley had pleaded guilty to two felony counts of possession of the drugs with the intent to deliver.
Other sentences
Several others were also sentenced:
ULinda Baker, 45, of Kitch Road, Greenville, was sentenced to nine days to one year in jail followed by two years of probation for theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors. On Jan. 26, according to court documents, she took a 1986 Chevy van valued at $1,500 from the Pine Grove Mobile Home Trailer Park, state Route 19, Coolspring Township. She also took a toolbox and other items worth $440 from the van. She was ordered to make restitution.
UNikolaus Beers, 23, of Greensburg, was sentenced to 11 months to two years for retail theft and escape, both misdemeanors. According to court documents, he stole a digital camera and two audio speakers Dec. 19 from Wal-Mart, 45 Williamson Road, Hempfield Township. Then, after being arrested, he fled from the Hempfield police station on South Mercer Street and was at large for 45 minutes.
UCarl Collins, 38, of Butler, was sentenced to 21/2 years in jail and ordered to make restitution for theft of services, a misdemeanor. According to court documents, in April 2000, he left the Park Motel, 1334 W. Main Street, Grove City, in the middle of the night, knowing he owed $1,900.
UGeorge Crawford, Jr., 24, of Quimby Street, Sharon, was sentenced to nine months to two years in jail for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors. Last September, according to court documents, he operated a Dodge Spirit without the owner's consent. He was also found in possession of a pipe commonly used for smoking crack cocaine. Crawford then ran from Sharon and Brookfield police officers when they tried to arrest him, threw dirt in one officer's eyes, and had to be subdued with Chemical Mace. The offenses all occurred at Crawford's home.
UJonathan Hill, 20, of Pittsburgh, was sentenced to two months to one year in jail, followed by three years' probation for felony aggravated assault. Last December, according to court documents, he used a pair of metal knuckles to hit another man in the face and head. The man required 21 stitches to close the resulting wounds. The attack occurred on Old Ash Road, Springfield Township.
UMitchel Jackson, 39, of Airport Road, Mercer, was sentenced to one week to one year in jail for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, a misdemeanor. According to court documents, in November 2001, he took a gas heater from the Reznor Plant, 150 McKinley Ave., Mercer. Then, during an investigation, he brought a different heater to the Mercer Borough Police Department with the intent to mislead police.
URhonda McCollums, 32, of North Perry Highway, Mercer, was sentenced to six months to one year, followed by four years' probation, for a consolidated count of misdemeanor forgery. According to court documents, last December, she wrote a prescription for OxyContin on a prescription pad that had been stolen from a physician. She presented the prescription at the Medicine Shoppe, 419 S. Main St., Greenville.
