XYOUNGSTOWN -- The exchange of nuptial vows took place between Katie Mae Powell and Jonathan Evanchick, both of 524 Crossings Way, Avon Lake, as they were united in marriage by the Rev. Richard Murphy at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at St. Columba Cathedral.
A reception was held at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman to honor the daughter of Charles and Sandy Powell of Mineral Ridge and the son of John and Mary Ann Evanchick, also of Mineral Ridge.
After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple live at the Avon Lake address.
Vertical ruffles enhanced the bride strapless gown of silk satin organza.
Black gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Jennifer Rossire and Kristi Marra; the bridesmaids, Regina Evanchick, Heather Powell, Rebecca Sylak, Regan Pore, Darci Christopher, McKensie Dahms and Laura Lewis; and the junior bridesmaid, Ellen Walp. Ring bearer was Noell Bukovina.
Jeremy Keschl served as best man, and groomsmen were Chris Marra, Nick Mucci, MIchael Powell, George Dubic, Tim Toddy, Chris Koenig, Gino Nicastro and John Bukovina. Junior groomsman was Luke Bukovina, and ring bearer was Max Walp.
The bride and groom graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College with bachelor's degrees, hers in exercise science and his in business. She earned a physician assistant master's degree at Gannon University. The groom is a pharmaceutical representative with Shearing-Plough Pharmaceuticals in Cleveland.
