LIBERTY -- Goodwill Industries received a $51,000 grant from the Kennedy Family Foundation, a component fund of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, which will be used to buy a new boiler to heat Goodwill's headquarters building at 2747 Belmont Ave.
Also, two gifts to Goodwill from local Lions Clubs will be used to improve the Youngstown Radio Reading Service, which is provided free to qualified listeners who are print-impaired. The Youngstown Lions Club donated $3,000 for new radios, a CD burner and other equipment; and the Austintown Lions Club gave Goodwill $725 to buy headphones for volunteers to use while recording, 300 audiocassette tapes and compact discs.
