GIRARD
Sept. 20
Theft: Someone stole a bicycle from a front yard in the 400 block of North Avenue.
Assault: A man reported three juveniles shot his 11-year-old son with paint guns, striking the victim in the hip area, as the boy walked down Navajo Trail.
Sept. 21
Vandalism: Someone used a knife to poke holes in the side of a swimming pool and to puncture one tire on each of two vehicles at a residence in the 100 block of Dearborn Street.
Theft: An employee at Werner Trucking, 1200 S. State St., noticed a trailer that was attached to a tractor had been broken into. Several boxes of cereal were missing.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a North Ward Avenue man on a domestic-violence charge after his girlfriend alleged he destroyed property at their residence and threatened to harm her while he was intoxicated.
Sept. 22
Breaking and entering/theft: A man reported someone used a brick to break a work vehicle's passenger-side window in the 40 block of West Liberty Street. A nail gun and nine roofing guns were taken.
Vandalism: An employee at a doctor's office in the 300 block of South State Street found two BB holes in the front window at the business. Also, someone shot several BBs through a doctor's office window in the 100 block of South State Street.
Stolen property: After conducting a traffic stop on State Street, police recovered from the vehicle a blue duffel bag containing various compact discs, a journal, a quart of motor oil and other items thought to have been stolen during a theft in Niles.
Sept. 23
Unauthorized use: A woman in the 400 block of East Prospect Street alleged her daughter took her 2001 Chevy Prizm without her knowledge or consent.
Assault: A woman alleged her former boyfriend forced his way into her apartment in the 400 block of Elruth Court and assaulted a friend. The victim had a swollen upper lip and a bite wound.
LIBERTY
Sept. 17
Recovered property: A semi-automatic pistol was recovered above the ceiling to an apartment in the 10 block of Holly Drive.
Theft: An employee at Denny's Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., reported a woman in her 20s left after an argument and failed to pay a $13.54 food bill.
Vandalism: Someone threw a rock through the front door at Pearson's Floor Covering, 3100 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A woman in the 1800 block of Pleasant Valley Road noticed two vehicles' doors ajar, and that her purse was removed from one of the cars and a Sony Walkman was missing from the other.
Sept. 19
Domestic violence: A 22-year-old woman was arrested at her Madison Avenue residence on a domestic-violence charge after police found her boyfriend in the front yard with a bloody nose. The victim alleged she punched him during a fight.
Assault: A woman in the 2900 block of Northview Boulevard alleged her former landlord grabbed and shook her after they argued about damage he claimed she caused at her former residence on Colonial Drive. The man told police she threatened to kill him.
Vandalism: Someone caused about $1,500 in damage to a storage shed on Lakeview Drive, possibly with a backhoe.
Criminal damage: An employee at Ohio Foot Institute Inc., 3200 Belmont Ave., reported someone damaged a vehicle's front bumper and scratched an obscenity into a door frame at the business.
Attempted auto theft: Someone broke a driver's-side vent window and damaged a 1993 Cadillac Sedan DeVille's steering column, in the 200 block of Colonial Drive, before trying to steal the vehicle.
Recovered property: A 1996 Plymouth Breeze stolen in Youngstown was recovered in the Econo Lodge parking lot, 1615 E. Liberty St.
Theft: A woman discovered someone stole a hubcap from her vehicle in the 1400 block of West Liberty Street.
Sept. 20
Possible auto theft: A man in the 2900 block of Northview Boulevard alleged a friend took the keys to his 2001 Hyundai Sonata and that the vehicle was missing.
Drugs: After stopping a vehicle for a traffic violation at the American Inn, 1600 Motor Inn Drive, police arrested a 37-year-old Youngstown man on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers alleged finding a suspected crack pipe in the man's pocket.
Arrest: After running a vehicle registration check in the Taco Bell parking lot, 3551 Belmont Ave., police determined the car to be stolen and charged a Youngstown boy, 15, with receiving stolen property. He also was wanted on a warrant charging him with probation violation.
Sept. 21
Drugs: After pulling over a car in the 4300 block of Belmont Avenue, police arrested a woman, 21, and a man, 28, both from Warren. The woman was charged with various traffic violations; the man faced charges of possession of drugs, aggravated menacing and possession of dangerous drugs. Officers said they found a plastic wrap with 3 1/2 Vicodin tablets in his pants pocket.
Theft/vandalism: Someone broke into and damaged a washing machine and dryer in the laundry room at an apartment complex in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive before removing an undetermined amount of money.
Sept. 22
Auto theft: A woman, 30, reportedly stole a 1991 Pontiac Sunbird from the American Inn parking lot.
Criminal damage: Someone used a rock to smash the windshields to a vehicle and a semi-trailer near Wilson and Harding avenues.
Theft: A woman discovered her vehicle's front license plate missing in the Big Lots parking lot, 3491 Belmont Ave.
Burglary: Someone broke into an apartment in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive and removed a can containing about $100 from a bedroom.
HUBBARD
Sept. 17
Criminal mischief: A woman in the 20 block of Orchard Avenue reported her car's rear brake light cover broken.
Criminal damage: A Waugh Drive woman discovered her vehicle's window smashed when she was in the 100 block of East Liberty Street.
Sept. 18
Theft: A woman in the 200 block of Grandview Drive reported various items missing from her vehicle.
Theft: Two men reportedly broke into a car parked at Patton's IGA Super Center, 880 W. Liberty St.
Vandalism: A man reported some juveniles broke windows of a building in the 400 block of Myron Street.
Sept. 22
Theft: A man in the 7900 block of Warren-Sharon Road reported someone stole checks from him and cashed them at Cortland Bank, 890 W. Liberty St.
