STRUTHERS -- The Struthers and Mahoning County District boards of health will give rabies shots to dogs, cats and ferrets from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 in Struthers City Hall police garage. Vaccines cost $2 per animal. No appointment is required. Dogs must be on a leash; cats and ferrets must be in a cage or cloth pillowcase. All animals must be at least 3 months old.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Youngstown received $1,000 from the Ruth H. Beecher Foundation to coordinate health-related education for seniors in community high-rise apartments.
U.S. Route 62 paving
MERCER, Pa. -- Motorists using U.S. Route 62 can expect some traffic congestion and delays as the highway is paved between Zahniser Road and Mercer borough beginning Friday. Construction crews will begin a 24-hour paving cycle at 7 a.m. They expect to complete their work sometime Wednesday.
