Summary of recent police activity for Boardman and Poland:
BOARDMAN
Sept. 16
Assault: A Southington woman alleged a 28-year-old man assaulted her in a bedroom at an apartment in the 30 block of Carter Circle.
Theft: Someone stole two rooftop furnaces, worth about $10,000, from a parking lot in the 6100 block of Market Street.
Arrest: A 16-year-old Boardman girl was arrested in the 3700 block of Market Street and charged with being an unruly juvenile and being a runaway.
Theft: A woman reported a garage-door opener and two rubber floor mats missing from a vehicle she rented from Enterprise Rent-a-Car, 7880 Market St.
Arrest: A 31-year-old man was arrested at his Homestead Drive apartment on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court to face one count of passing bad checks.
Theft: Someone stole two bags of candy from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.
Arrests: Police arrested a Boardman woman, 47, and a Youngstown man, 46, on Charles Avenue, on charges of receiving stolen property. Fourteen pieces of clothing were stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.
Criminal damage: A Youngstown man reported that someone kicked his car while it was parked at Taco Bell, 458 Boardman-Canfield Road, causing $530 in damage.
Sept. 17
Arrest: After investigating an auto accident near Southern Boulevard and Indianola Road, police arrested a 26-year-old Youngstown man on charges of trafficking in cocaine, obstructing official business and driving under a suspended license. Officers say they found a small bag containing suspected crack cocaine, and that the suspect provided false information about his name and date of birth.
Arrest: After a traffic stop on Linger Place, police arrested a Campbell man, 28, on charges of assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers say they found a suspected marijuana pipe in his possession.
Theft: A woman told police her son witnessed someone steal a $100 bicycle from their front yard in the 4700 block of Euclid Boulevard.
Theft: A man reported an extension ladder missing from a home he rents in the 20 block of Charles Avenue.
Burglary: A woman in the 40 block of Washington Boulevard reported her residence broken into and a pair of gold earrings, a string of pearls, a gift card and a jar containing $300 worth of change stolen.
Theft: Police arrested a Lisbon woman, 18, and a Columbiana boy, 16, on theft charges after a spike bracelet was stolen from Claire's Boutiques Inc. in the Southern Park Mall.
Assault: A student at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave., alleged a 19-year-old woman assaulted her in a school hallway.
Criminal damage: Someone damaged undetermined property belonging to a U.S. government recruiting office in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A woman in the 5600 block of Lockwood Boulevard reported her child's bicycle stolen.
Arrest: A 26-year-old man was arrested at his Sciota Avenue residence on charges of assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
Arrest: A Youngstown man, 50, was arrested at Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, on charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sept. 18
Arrest: A 23-year-old Youngstown man was charged with menacing after an employee at BW-3 in the Southern Park Mall reported being a victim of aggravated menacing.
Criminal damage: A woman reported minor lawn damage and damage to a lamppost at her residence in the 200 block of Mill Creek Drive.
Theft: A man in the 3900 block of South Schenley Avenue reported someone removed an AM-FM compact-disc player from his vehicle parked nearby.
Theft: An employee at Greenwood Market Motor Co., 7871 Market St., reported the theft of insurance checks totaling more than $14,000.
Theft: A man who owns property in the 20 block of Charles Avenue discovered a couch, a recliner, an oak coffee table, a rocking chair and an antique lamp table missing.
Theft: Police arrested a 29-year-old Youngstown man on a theft charge after a $40 pair of earrings was stolen from Kaufmann's in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A 20-year-old Cleveland man was charged with theft after four drapery products were stolen from the J.C. Penney store.
Burglary: A man reported that a garage entrance door to his residence in the 100 block of Carter Circle was forced open.
Burglary: A woman in the 200 block of Washington Boulevard reported her apartment broken into and a men's electric shaver stolen.
Theft, criminal damage: A man reported his car's passenger-side door lock and dashboard damaged while the vehicle was in Camelot Lanes parking lot, 628 Boardman-Canfield Road. A CD player and a 500-watt amplifier were taken.
Sept. 19
Arrest: A 58-year-old Youngstown man was arrested at his Market Street residence on a warrant charging him with aggravated menacing.
Arrest: After responding to a report of a suspicious male in a women's restroom at Boardman Center Middle School, 7410 Market St., police charged a 17-year-old Boardman boy with disorderly conduct while intoxicated in a school zone.
Assault: Police arrested a 14-year-old Boardman boy on charges of assault and menacing after an eighth-grade pupil reported being assaulted while on a school bus in the township.
Thefts: Police arrested a 47-year-old Youngstown man at the Mahoning County jail on two counts of theft and one count of obstructing official business. A pair of Pittsburgh Steelers leather gloves and four baseball caps were stolen from Sportstown, and two candle sets and a gift bag were taken from Hallmark, both in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft, criminal damage: A man reported that his van's passenger-side door lock was damaged and four movie videos and two Xbox games were stolen while the car was parked at Camelot Lanes.
Thefts: A CD player and 300 CDs were removed from a vehicle parked at the International House of Pancakes, 833 Boardman-Poland Road. Also, a woman reported two speakers and 64 CDs taken from her car.
Theft: An in-dash CD player was stolen from a vehicle parked at Ludt's Auto & amp; Truck Towing, 5720 Market St.
Assault: A Boardman High School student alleged a girl, 16, punched the victim in the mouth while they were at a football game at Boardman Center Middle School.
Theft: A 28-year-old woman reportedly stole a carton of cigarettes from a front counter at a Rich gas station, 5823 South Ave.
Theft: An employee at McDonald's restaurant, 15 Boardman-Canfield Road, discovered $261 missing from a safe.
Burglary: Someone broke into McMichael Bros. Auto Specialist, 4395 Lake Park Road, through an overhead door and removed a 1986 Suzuki all-terrain vehicle, a dirt bike and a scooter.
Sept. 20
Recovered property: A 1995 International truck missing from a parking lot in the 600 block of East Midlothian Boulevard was recovered, with a broken passenger-side window, and returned to B-Right Trucking Co., 945 McClurg Road.
Theft: A man discovered an 18-speed mountain bike missing from his garage in the 5600 block of Lockwood Boulevard. Also, a woman reported a bicycle missing from her garage.
Arrest: After a traffic stop near U.S. Route 224 and Applewood Boulevard, a 19-year-old Canfield man was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of marijuana. Police say they found a knife and a bag of suspected marijuana in the vehicle.
Theft: Someone used a stolen credit card to buy a portable DVD player and a Sony PlayStation 2 game system from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: Two women reported their wallets and checkbooks stolen from their purses while they shopped at Dillard's in the Southern Park Mall.
Criminal damage: A man reported a window on his vehicle damaged at his residence in the 7100 block of Glendale Avenue.
Theft: A man discovered his checkbook missing when he was at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.
Arrest: A Boardman man, 19, was arrested on Montrose Avenue and charged with the sale of liquor to an underage person and driving under a suspended license.
Burglary: A woman reported a burglary to her residence in the 300 block of Meadowbrook Avenue, and that two prescription medication bottles were removed. Also, a man at the same location reported $130 and three bottles of medication stolen.
Sept. 21
Domestic violence: A 32-year-old woman was arrested at her Huntington Drive home on a domestic-violence charge after another woman at the residence reported being a victim.
Theft: A woman said she witnessed a man steal two newspapers from a Vindicator newspaper box in the 6000 block of South Avenue.
Theft: A man in the 40 block of Clifton Drive reported his car broken into and an AM-FM CD player, a planner book and a handheld computer stolen.
Domestic violence: A 32-year-old Boardman man was arrested at the Mahoning County Justice Center on a domestic-violence charge after a woman reported a situation at the Boardman High School football field.
Theft: A Boardman girl and a Poland girl, both 15, were charged with theft after three undergarments were stolen from Kaufmann's.
Assaults: Two women reported being assaulted while they were in front of the Chick-Fil-A restaurant in the Southern Park Mall.
Thefts: Police arrested two Youngstown boys, both 13, near Market Street and Midlothian Boulevard, and charged them with theft after two men reported their bicycles stolen from a sidewalk area at the Southern Park Mall.
Attempted auto theft: Someone tried to steal a 1990 Buick Park Avenue from the Southern Park Mall parking lot.
Vandalism: A woman in the 1900 block of Palo Verde Drive reported that someone placed an offensive image on a fire hydrant in her yard.
Auto theft: A 1992 Oldsmobile Ciera was stolen in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A man in the 5900 block of Applecrest Drive reported dolls and a cradle stolen from a backyard shed.
Auto theft: A 1991 Oldsmobile Delta 88 was stolen from Dillard's parking lot.
Arrest: After responding to a call for medical help in the 100 block of Shields Road, police arrested an 18-year-old Shields Road man on a charge of obstructing official business.
POLAND
Sept. 18
Theft: A man in the 100 block of Delaware Avenue reported a punch set, two drills, a saw and two toolboxes with various tools stolen from his work truck.
Sept. 20
Arrest: After conducting a traffic stop, police arrested a 16-year-old Stoner Avenue boy on charges of delinquency and being an unruly juvenile.
Drugs: After a traffic stop near state Route 170 and Riverside Drive, an 18-year-old Christopher Drive man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they found a bag of suspected marijuana in the glove compartment as well as a suspected marijuana pipe in the vehicle.
