Lisbon sues contractors over renovation project

LISBON -- The village is suing two contractors, contending they violated their contracts involving a downtown streets and sidewalks renovation project completed about two years ago.
The village filed the suit Tuesday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court against Hodge Construction Inc., New Waterford, and E.G. & amp;G. Inc., Akron.
The village says Hodge was hired to do the work and E.G. & amp;G. was hired to oversee it.
Hodge breached its contract by failing to do the work properly, which has necessitated repairs, the lawsuit alleges. E.G. & amp;G. also violated its contract by failing to observe and supervise Hodge, according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit is seeking damages exceeding $25,000.
