Illinois St., W. Illinois and SMS all finish on top in Gateway Conference

CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Demetrus Johnson had a 49-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and rushed for 159 yards as Illinois State beat Eastern Illinois 21-14 Saturday.
Illinois State (3-1) fell behind 14-7 in the first quarter when Fred Miller returned an interception 32 yards for a score and Andy Vincent threw a 35-yard TD pass for Eastern Illinois (1-3).
The Redbirds tied the game in the fourth quarter on a safety by Camero Siskowic, who blocked a punt in the end zone. Johnson's TD run put Illinois State ahead for good with 8:52 left in the game.
Mike Souza was 15-for-34 for 215 yards with one touchdown and an interception for Illinois State. Souza also rushed for 45 yards.
Illinois State outgained the Panthers 482-211.
Eastern Illinois running back Andre Raymond had 110 yards rushing.
W. Illinos 56, Tenn.-Martin 0
MACOMB, Ill. -- Russ Michna passed for 292 yards and five touchdowns as Western Illinois beat Tennessee-Martin 56-0 on Saturday.
Reggie Gray caught three touchdown passes and Charles Hayden ran for one score and caught another as the Leathernecks (3-1) held Tennessee-Martin (1-3) to negative 20 yards rushing.
Gray had touchdown catches of 21, 11, and 61 yards and finished with 93 yards receiving. Michna also had a TD pass to Terrance Hall as Western Illinois built a 41-0 halftime lead.
Hayden's 26-yard TD run and a 16-yard TD run by Sedrick Rivers in the third quarter capped the scoring for Western Illinois.
Attley Lawson had 77 yards rushing on eight carries for the Leathernecks, and Hayden had 46 yards on six carries.
Michna finished 10-of-16 with an interception, while Tennessee-Martin quarterback Brett Hall was 9-of-18 for 75 yards.
Ben Harrison rushed for 9 yards as Tennessee-Martin gained just 89 total yards compared to 517 for the Leathernecks.
SW Missouri 17, SE Missouri 10
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Cody Pratt rushed for 146 yards on 30 carries and Jovon Lewis returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown.
David Taufoou ran 26 times for 107 yards in his first start for Southeast Missouri (0-4).
Indiana St. 17, Murray St. 10
MURRAY, Ky. -- Jake Shields rushed 196 yards on 24 carries and scored one touchdown as Indiana State rallied with 10 points in the fourth quarter.
Ron Lane carried the ball 11 times for 72 yards for Murray State (1-3). He also had two kick returns for 37 yards.
Indiana State (2-2) went ahead of the Racers 14-10 when Kris Karagory scored on a 6-yard touchdown run early in the final quarter.
With nine minutes to go, Kyle Hooper's field goal put ISU ahead 17-10.
The Sycamores secured the win when they recovered a Murray State fumble with 2:16 remaining in the game.
