Youngstown woman reports rape, beating

YOUNGSTOWN -- A 41-year-old woman seeking care at St. Elizabeth Health Center on Saturday told police she was beaten unconscious and raped on the city's South Side by a man she knows.
The woman said the man, in his late 40s, picked her up shortly after midnight on Friday from her home, also on the South Side, and drove to an area near Edwards Street and Orange Avenue, where he punched her in the face while wearing bolts on his fingers and forced her to perform oral sex, police reports show. He beat her again until she lost consciousness and, when she awoke, her clothes had been removed and he was raping her, she reported to police.
The woman said the man told her to put her clothes on and took her home around 2 a.m., police reports say.
