Leigh sparks Mineral Ridge to 33-0 walloping against Springfield

MINERAL RIDGE -- Levi Leigh rushed for 133 yards on 22 carries Friday as the Mineral Ridge High football team shut out Springfield, 33-0.
Leigh had touchdown runs of 4 and 6 yards for the Rams (4-1, 2-0) who have have outscored the opposition 207-61.
Chris Ault of the Rams tallied on runs of 2 and 1 yard. Mineral Ridge had 297 total yards, compared to the Tigers' (1-4, 0-2) 116 yards.

BERLIN CENTER -- The Bluejays (2-3, 1-0) scored all their points in the first half.
Nick Dirkes caught a 50-yard touchdown pass from Mark Balent and he also returned an intercepted pass 50 yards for another score.
Balent also threw a 63-yard TD strike to Zack Kosa to give the Blue Jays a 6-0 lead in the first quarter. He also tallied on a 3-yard run.
Adam Keck of the Bluejays rushed for 89 yards on 11 carries and scored on a 52-yard run.
Chris Truitt caught a 55-yard TD strike from Jake Datchok for the Blue Devils' (1-4, 0-2) only score.
Datchok gained 43 yards on 16 carries and he hit on 16 of 27 passes for 195.
