South Avenue work nears end

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown City Health District offers influenza and pneumonia shots from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the health department, 345 Oak Hill Ave.
The cost of the flu vaccine is $10 and the pneumonia shot is $15. There is no cost to Medicare Part B recipients if they have no HMO or supplemental insurance. Medicare recipients are asked to bring their Medicare cards.
This year's flu vaccine offers protection against A/Moscow, A/New Caledonia and B/Hong Kong, the three strains of the virus believed to be most likely to occur in the United States this winter.
Youngstown residency is not a requirement for participation.
