MOUNT UNION (1-0)vs. BALDWIN-WALLACE (1-0)
When: 1:30 p.m.
Where: Mount Union Stadium, Alliance.
Last year: Mount Union 28, Baldwin-Wallace 21.
Scouting report: Mount Union, seven-time NCAA Division III national champion, including last year, was idle last week after beating Wisconsin-Whitewater the previous week, 40-17, in the season opener to extend college football's longest current winning streak to 43 games. Senior QB Jesse Burghardt completed 11 of 14 passes for a career-high 335 yards and three TDs. Senior receiver Randell Knapp set a school single-game record for reception yards with 310 on a career-high 11 catches, one on a 76-yard TD strike from Burghardt. Baldwin-Wallace also didn't play last week after defeating Allegheny the week before, 45-26, in the season opener. In that win, the Yellow Jackets were led by senior RB Mark Anders, who rushed for a game-high 167 yards in 13 carries and three TDs on runs of 6 yards twice and 56 yards. Saturday's game will be the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for both teams. MUC will be launching defense of its OAC title. The Purple Raiders have won an OAC-record 76 straight regular-season OAC games. B-W was the last OAC team to beat MUC in 1994, 23-10. B-W holds a 21-19-1 advantage in the series between the two schools that began in 1896, but MUC has won the last eight meetings. As of Early September, MUC was ranked No. 1 in the nation in both the Don Hansen Football Gazette and the D3football.com top-25 national polls.
WESTMINSTER (0-1)vs. MANSFIELD, PA. (2-0)

Where: Harold Burry Stadium, New Wilmington, Pa.
Last year: Westminster 24, Mansfield 21.
Scouting report: Westminster was idle last week. The Titans have won all three games against Mansfield, prevailing last year with a 10-point rally from a 24-10 deficit. The Mounties are coming off a 19-0 win at home over Buffalo State College. Leading the way was RB Earnest McNeal with 209 yards rushing in 18 carries. In Westminster's season-opening 43-20 loss to Walsh, junior RB Scott Froelich rushed for 101 yards in 23 carries and one TD. Also, senior FB Ryan Mitchell (Warren Harding), junior DE Don Waldron (Lakeview High) and freshman PK Jason Montgomery (Wilmington Area High) were named Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Titans of the Week. Mitchell blocked well, Waldron had four tackles and Montgomery kicked two extra points and had solid kickoffs.
HIRAM (0-2)vs. CARNEGIE MELLON (2-0)
When: 1 p.m.
Where: Gesling Stadium, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Last year: Did not play.
Scouting report: The two teams will be meeting for the first time since 1989, and the 19th time overall since 1972. Between 1972-1989, Carnegie Mellon compiled a a 13-5 advantage in the series. CMU won the last meeting, 48-6, at Mt. Lebanon (Pa.) High's field. Hiram lost last week to Bluffton, 37-20, after blowing a 14-13 lead in the final quarter. The Terriers bowed the previous week to Grove City, 68-20, in the season opener. Carnegie Mellon turned back Grove City last week, 35-21, after building a 28-0 lead. The Tartans haven't had a losing record in the last 28 seasons. They went 5-5 last year to end a streak of 27 consecutive winning seasons. Against Bluffton, Hiram was led by QB Tom Roszell with 296 yards passing on 21-for-39 and three TDs with no interceptions in his first collegiate start. Jameel Mutawakkil caught nine of the aerials for 133 yards and one score. The Terriers' defense was led by Michael Erkkila with a game-high 13 total tackles, while Brandon Savage had 10 stops, including two quarterback sacks. Freshman DL Patrick Whitmore (LaBrae High) had his first career QB sack.
THIEL (0-1) vs. BLUFFTON (1-0)
When: 1:30 p.m.
Where: Salzman Stadium, Bluffton.
Last year: Thiel 37, Bluffton 6.
Scouting report: Thiel was idle last week. Bluffton is coming off a 35-20 win over Hiram College last week. In Thiel's 42-0 season-opening loss to John Carroll, QB Daryl Moore completed 10 of 15 passes for 177 yards. Senior TB Justin Napotnik (Sharpsville High) needs only 351 yards rushing to rank No. 5 on the school's all-time career rushing chart. Napotnik has 1,473 yards rushing. He needs 1,076 yards this season to succeed No. 1 Jackie Jackson (2,537).
GROVE CITY (1-1) vs. DEFIANCE (0-2)
When: 1:30 p.m..
Where: Robert E. Thorn Field, Grove City, Pa.
Last year: Defiance 37, Grove City 14.
Scouting report: Last year was the first time the two teams met. Grove City is coming off a 35-21 loss to Carnegie Mellon last week, after falling into a 28-0 hole early in the second quarter. Defiance lost to Adrian last Saturday, 24-21, after bowing to Olivet in the season opener, 44-12. Grove City got a good game last week from QB Sam Mowrey, who passed for 249 yards -- the seventh-highest aerial output in school history. Dave DiDonato caught seven passes for 132 yards, both career highs. The Wolverines' defense was led by Mike Choby with 11 tackles and one forced fumble and SS Gregg Grupp with 10 stops.
SLIPPERY ROCK (0-2)vs. FAIRMONT STATE (1-1)
When: 6 p.m.
Where: Duvall-Rozier Stadium, Fairmont, W. Va.
Last year: Slippery Rock 45, Fairmont State 0.
Scouting report: Slippery Rock dropped a 20-18 decision to Gannon last week, after opening the season with a 45-12 loss to Youngstown State. Slippery Rock's offensive leaders are QB Luke McCaffrey (14-for-45 for 186 yards and one TD), Mike Vernillo (83 yards rushing), Josh Kniess (80) and Brandon Markus (67), while Tim Arthurs has caught five passes for 103 yards and one TD. The defensive leaders are Dan Woodard (14 tackles), Corey Lemon (13) and John Lambo (12). Fairmont State is coming off a 42-12 loss to California (Pa.), following a season-opening 32-10 win over Charleston. In that victory, red-shirt freshman quarterback Pat Morrison, starting his first college game in place of injured Matt VanGlider, wound up having a good game after struggling in the first half. Morrison was 20-for-32 passing for 312 yards and two scores, but was intercepted and fumbled twice each.
WALSH (2-0) vs. ST. XAVIER (0-2)
When: 2 p.m.
Where: Chicago, Ill.
Last year: Walsh 16, St. Xavier 10.
Scouting report: Walsh rolled past West Liberty last week, 42-17, behind 28 second-half points. Meanwhile, St. Xavier lost to Wisconsin-Whitewater, 35-14, as the Cougars were held to 240 total yards. Last season, St. Xavier won the Mid-States Football Association Midwest title with a 5-1 league record. In Walsh's win over West Liberty, senior TB Derek Besgrove rushed for 172 yards and scored three TDs. He now has 4,326 career rushing yards, and is only 352 behind all-time leader Damont Skanes. Besgrove has 55 career TDs. Walsh's Alex Gray had seven solo tackles and a sack against West Liberty, and was named MSFA Mideast Defensive Player of the Week.
MALONE (0-1) vs.TRINITY INTERNATIONAL (2-0)

Scouting report: Malone lost its season opener last week at Georgetown (Ky.) College 42-40. Georgetown was ranked No. 2 among NAIA teams. The Pioneers got a good game from senior QB Eric Rector, who was 13-for-30 passing for 188 yards and two TDs, but also three interceptions. Leading the Malone defense was LB Jason Kennedy with 16 tackles, including eight solo stops. Trinity International got a 20-14 win over Aurora last Saturday, after beating Taylor the week before 27-20.
GENEVA (1-0)vs. OLIVET NAZARENE (1-0)
When: 7 p.m.
Where: Bourbonnais, Ill.
Scouting report: Geneva gained a season-opening 37-20 win over LaSalle University last week, after building a 37-12 halftime lead. It was Geneva's first game against an NCAA Division I school in 49 years. LaSalle is Div. I-AA. The Golden Tornadoes scored on four of their first five possessions. The game was played in a driving rain and poor field conditions all afternoon. Senior QB Ben Swallow (West Branch High) completed 15 of 24 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Red-shirt freshman Brandon Nathan and junior Matt Nowaczynski scored two touchdowns each during an 11-minute, first-half stretch. Nowaczynski caught TD passes of 10 and 8 yards, while Nathan had a 24-yard TD reception and ran 60 yards to his other TD. Olivet Nazarene was idle last week after winning its season opener the previous week over Wisconsin-Platteville, 27-24.
