JUNIOR HOCKEY Phantoms announce roster

The team begins its season tonight in Michigan.
BOARDMAN -- The Youngstown Phantoms Junior-A hockey club today announced its roster for the start of the 2003-04 North American Hockey League regular season.
The announcement was made jointly by general manager Jason Koehler and coach Bob Mainhardt.
The Phantoms will play their first regular season game tonight at 7 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Mich.ch., vs. the USA 18-and-under national team.
Youngstown will face the USA 17-and-under national team Saturday.
"Jason and I both think we're going to have a successful season," Mainhardt said. "We have a pretty good balance of veteran leadership and youthful vigor that's going to work well.
"With that mix, we feel day in and day out we can compete with anyone in the league. It's going to take time to get the team to mesh, but when it's all said and done, we think we'll be right there with the top teams competing for a national championship."
