FUND-RAISER The Links Inc. plans walk-a-thon for Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Links Inc. of Youngstown will sponsor its eighth annual walk-a-thon from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Wick Park. All Links chapters nationwide are holding similar events that day.
The theme is "Taking Charge of Our Hearts." Warm-up and registration will be at 9 and the walk will get under way at 9:30.
Participants may organize a walk team, sponsor a walker or register to walk. Walkers have the option of walking in three groups -- Stepping Out, 15 minutes; Hitting Your Stride, 30 minutes; and Setting the Pace, one hour. The goal is to walk around the park as many times as possible at one's own pace.
Registration fee is $10 and $5 for seniors 65 years and older. The fee for children 13 and younger is $3.
Prizes will be awarded. Proceeds will benefit Grace Place Medical Services and other local charities.
