The city's board of control approved these contracts and spending items Thursday:
Severance of $14,005 for Jeffery Lewis, a police officer who was fired July 20, 2001. An internal affairs investigation showed that Lewis withheld important information from the prosecutor's office and knowingly entered false or inaccurate information on reports, according to Vindicator files.Severances of $2,167 for Markle Williams, a maintenance helper in the water department, and $1,151 for Stephen Moritz, a laborer in the water department, who both were fired June 13. Each was fired for violating the city's last-chance agreement, which governs employee conduct. Law Director John McNally IV said he could not specify the offenses, citing the federal health insurance protection act.Severance of $926 for Torah Adams, a 911 technician who resigned Feb. 23.A $132,036 CONTRACT with T3 Technologies Inc. of Tampa, Fla., to replace the city's mainframe computer.Paying up to $3,000 for the city's portion of production costs for the Youngstown 2010 PBS broadcast Wednesday.
