XCOLUMBIA, S.C. -- Swift Creek Baptist Church provided the setting for the Aug. 31 wedding of Meredith Ellen Pate, Butler Street, and Scott Michael Bottar, Turtle Court, who exchanged vows before the Rev. Canon Michael Sullivan at 4 p.m.
The bride is a daughter of Marjorie Rasor of Memphis, Tenn., and Robert J. Pate of Georgetown, S.C. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bottar, 4856 King-Graves Road, Vienna.
A reception was held at Boykin's at the Mill Pond Restaurant. They live in Columbia.
Mrs. Bottar graduated with a bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston and a master's degree from the University of South Carolina. She is a family support coordinator with Hospice Care of Tri-County.
Mr. Bottar earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Kent State University and a master's of business administration at Winthrop University in South Carolina. He is a custom program manager with Solectron in West Columbia.
Matron of honor was Angela Pate Lewis, the bride's sister. Bridesmaids were Heidi Bottar Baldy and Holly R. Bottar, the groom's sisters. Flower girl was Nicole E. Baldy, his niece.
Performing the duties of best man was Edward Mizicko, the groom's cousin. Groomsmen were Steve T. Conrad and Daniel J. Mizicko, his cousin.
Wedding participants were Amy Mitchell Johnson, Sally Stuart Keyser and Lindsey A. Mizicko, the groom's cousin.
