STRUTHERS -- A man and woman police have yet to identify are being held in the Mahoning County Jail on $250,000 pending preliminary hearings on a slew of drug charges.
John Doe, also known as Kenneth Scott, Brian McCloud, and Hollywood, is charged with drug abuse, forgery, obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jane Doe, also known as Vivian McCloud and Vivian S. Kirk, is charged with conveying an illegal substance into a detention facility, forgery, obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said the two had phony California identification cards when they were arrested about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday during a traffic stop.
Car ran stop sign
According to police, the defendants were passengers in a car that ran a stop sign at Midlothian Boulevard and Fifth Street. The driver, Peggy A. Spicer, 47, of Youngstown Road, Warren, was wanted on a felony warrant issued by the Trumbull County Sheriff's Department. Spicer was charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the Trumbull County Sheriff's Department.
Police said that after arresting Spicer they found a glass pipe used for smoking crack cocaine in John Doe's pants and a bag containing suspected cocaine.
A suspected marijuana cigarette was in plain view in an ashtray inside the car, the report says. Police also found a container with residue of suspected marijuana. Several other drug-related items were inside the trunk of the car, including two crack pipes and a digital scale with suspected cocaine residue.
Police also logged into evidence $1,655 in cash from John Doe's wallet.
During processing at the Struthers police station, officers charged Jane Doe with conveying a prohibited substance into a detention facility after she dropped a crack pipe.
John and Jane Doe were arraigned in Struthers Municipal Court on Wednesday and are in the Mahoning County Jail on $250,000 bond, pending preliminary hearings next Wednesday.
