VOLLEYBALL Liberty's Mills excels in match with Niles
Howland and Mineral Ridge also picked up victories.
LIBERTY -- Chenelle Mills had a triple-double with 15 points, 14 kills and 11 digs to key Liberty High to a 16-14, 13-15, 15-6 victory over Niles in a non-conference volleyball match Monday.
Chelsea O'Donnell added four aces and six kills for the Leopards (5-5), while Sunny Smallwood 11 kills and five digs and Mary Massaro 19 assists.
For Niles (3-6), Stacia Ray had eight digs and four kills and Shannon Floyd seven points and seven assists.
Howland 15-15, Campbell 3-6
CAMPBELL -- Tera Rose had 12 points, nine saves and three kills, while Jaime Kelly had five points, three aces and six kills for Howland (9-2). Jaime's sister, Brittany Kelly, had three points and 10 assists for the Tigers.
Mineral Ridge 15-15, LaBrae 5-7
MINERAL RIDGE -- Katie Garland had 11 serves and 16 assists for the Rams (4-6).
Sarah Stark tacked on an ace and three blocks for the winners.
Maddie D'Orio led the Vikings (1-13) with four serves, eight kills and 11 digs.
Springfield 14-15-15,Crestview 16-7-9
COLUMBIANA -- Heather Snyder collected 13 digs while Lindsay Johnson had 10 digs and 21 kills for the Tigers (9-2).
For the Rebels (5-4), Tricia Richards had nine kills, two aces and 13 points. Lindsay Sapp scored seven points and added 31 assists.
Maplewood 15-15,Southington 6-8
CORTLAND -- Brittney Bolinger had 16 points, three service aces and 18 setter assists for Maplewood (8-2, 4-1 Northeast Athletic Conference).
Jennifer Grayson added eight kills and three blocks and Stephanie Schwartz contributed eight serving points and three blocks.
For Southington (1-5, 1-4), Sam Mowrer had five service aces and one dig, while Haylie Myers had three service aces and three kills.
