HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Colgate defeated Youngstown State 6-0 Sunday.
Kate Barrett had three goals and an assist for Colgate. Carolyn Warhaftig, Meredith Rovelli and Courtney Robb added goals.
YSU was out-shot 17-0 and out-cornered 12-1.
Women's Golf
BOWLING GREEN -- YSU tied for sixth at the Bowling Green Lady Falcon Invitational which concluded Sunday.
The Penguins' two-round score of 656 tied Western Ontario for sixth place. Grand Valley State won the event with a 619 in a playoff over Toledo.
YSU scorers were Gina Abruzzino (157, 12th place); Lori (161, 17th); Jennie Fleiner (165, 23rd); Megan Bricker (173, 40th) and Erin Odell (186, 50th).
Volleyball
VESTAL, N.Y. -- Senior Colleen Royer had 17 kills while Annie Buscher finished with 11 to lead YSU to a three-game sweep over Quinnipiac, 30-15, 31-29, 30-22, Saturday.
The Penguins (7-4) finished 3-0 at the Binghamton Tournament.
Freshman Janelle McDonald finished with 13 digs while Angie Pasquinelli had 35 assists.
The Penguins are at the Morgan State Tournament Friday.
Cross Country
COLLEGE PARK, Pa. -- Freshman Lisa Davies nearly broke the school record in her first collegiate race with a ninth-place time of 22 minutes, 4 seconds in the 6k at the Penn State Spiked Shoe Invitational Saturday.
Davies' time paced the women to a third-place finish, while Nick Buzek's 10th-place time of 26:51 led the men to a second-place finish.
Kurt Michaelis finished 12th with a time of 26:57 while Tony Orcena (26:58) was 13th. Ryan Petrick added a 16th-place time of 27:07 while Paul Robinette rounded out the scoring with a 28th-place time of 27:24.
Lindsay Wojciak finished 26th in 22:56, freshmen Marielle Glanz (23:20) and Kim Jendre (23:21) finished 33rd and 34th, respectively, and Andrea Bardy (23:47) was 50th.
Penn State won both the women's and men's races.
The Penguins are in the Iona Meet of Champions Sept. 27.

Lordstown beats Mathews, 2-1
VIENNA -- The Lordstown High soccer team scored two first-half goals and held off Mathews for a 2-1 victory Saturday.
Max Gibson and Kyle Owens tallied for the Red Devils (2-5-1), with assists from Fred Housel and Mike McVicker. Goalie Brandon Wickline made 18 saves.
Mathews' goal was scored by Dan Graora off an assist by Rachele Winfield. Goalie Brett Ford made eight saves for Mathews (2-5-1).

* SILVIS, Ill. -- J.L. Lewis and Vijay Singh were tied for the lead at the John Deere Classic when darkness suspended play in the final round. Lewis and Singh were at 12 under after completing the rain-delayed third round on Sunday. They only played five holes of the final round, which will resume Monday morning.
* HUNT VALLEY, Md. -- Larry Nelson shot a 2-under-par 70 for a two-stroke victory at the Constellation Energy Classic. He finished at 9-under 207 on Sunday for his first win of the year and 17th on the Champions Tour.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Lithuania won its third title at the European Basketball Championships on Sunday, defeating Spain 93-84.
