Campbell gets grant for city housing



CAMPBELL -- City officials will host a special public meeting at 6:30 p.m. next Monday at city hall to explain how a $500,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Development will be used to improve housing throughout the city.
Community Housing Improvement Program grants from the Department of Development provide for homeowner rehabilitation in target areas, and home repair and down payment or housing rehabilitation assistance throughout the city.
Of the CHIP grants Campbell received, $285,000 will be used for homeowner rehabilitation in target areas, $50,000 for home repair citywide, and $58,000 for down payment/rehabilitation throughout Campbell. The balance will provide for fair housing, administration and implementation.
Distribution of funds must be completed by July 31, 2005.
Applicants must meet income eligibility requirements, which will be explained during the meeting. Applications for grant money will be available.
