NEW CASTLE Official of Ornish program will lecture on self-healing



The doctor will speak about natural treatment options.
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Dr. C. Neilson Herrick, medical director of the Dr. Dean Ornish Program, an emergency room physician, will present a two-hour lecture titled "The Future of Medicine -- Natural Healing from Within."
The lecture is free and open to the public from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 18 at Jameson School of Nursing North. Seating is limited; call (724) 656-4660.
Dr. Herrick's lecture will focus on rethinking our concept of medicine, lifestyle and nutrition and ask the question: Can the body self-heal, halting and reversing disease? Dr. Herrick will inspire and empower you to create wellness and change your life. Natural treatment options for anxiety/depression, arthritis/autoimmune disease, attention deficit disorder, cancer therapy enhancements, chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia, balance for women and obesity and diabetes will be discussed.
Heart disease
There will also be a special introduction to Jameson Health System's Dean Ornish Program for reversing heart disease. The program is a noninvasive way to treat heart disease, giving patients an alternative that can improve their quality of life and allow them to take a more direct, active role in maintaining their health.
