Leigh leads Ridge past Reserve; McDonald stops Jackson-Milton



Lowellville's shutout streak was ended in a 29-7 win over Mathews.
BERLIN CENTER -- Levi Leigh rushed for 242 yards on 15 carries and three touchdowns, while Chris Ault completed 10 of 18 passes for 119 yards and two TDs to power Mineral Ridge past Western Reserve 47-7 in an Inter-County League game Friday.
Leigh scored on runs of 30, 20 and 1 yard, while Greg Dominic scored twice, on a 21-yard pass from Ault and a 35-yard run.
Brian Palmer kicked two field goals (33 and 23 yards) and five extra points for the Rams (3-1, 1-0 ICL). Mikah Hall added 67 yards in eight carries.
Jake Zatchok led Western Reserve (1-2, 0-1) with 14-for-29 passing for 170 yards. He also had his team's only TD. Matt Cowher rushed for 50 yards in three carries.
McDonald 14, Jackson-Milton 12
NORTH JACKSON -- Linebacker Andrew Mattson knocked quarterback Zack Nicholas out of bounds on a conversion attempt with 1:22 remaining to prevent a tie and preserve McDonald's two-point win.
Jackson-Milton (1-3, 0-1) fell behind 14-0 but rallied to tie the game at 12 on Nicholas' 9-yard run in the second quarter and his 49-yard TD strike to Tim Shaw.
McDonald (1-3, 1-2) took a 14-0 lead on Tyler Stanley's 4-yard run in the first quarter and Bobby Ovesny's 26-yard TD pass to Mike Dickson in the second, both capped by Andrew Presco's extra-point kicks.
Presco rushed for 126 yards in 22 carries, while Stanley added 54 yards in 10 runs. Ovesny was 4-for-7 passing for 49 yards
For Jackson-Milton, Nicholas was 9-for-26 passing for 152 yards, and he added 44 yards rushing in nine carries. Adam Keck ran for 71 yards in 17 carries.
Lowellville 29, Mathews 7
VIENNA -- The Rockets (4-0, 1-0) allowed their first points of the season but remained unbeaten with its ICL victory over Mathews (2-2, 0-1). No further details of this game were reported.
