YOUNGSTOWN -- The Ohio Department of Transportation will restrict traffic on two main routes in the city between Monday and Oct. 15 so crews can repave the road.
Traffic will be restricted on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, also known as U.S. Route 422, from the Trumbull County line to Rayen Avenue. Traffic also will be restricted on Rayen Avenue from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Oak Street.
Also, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction between midnight Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday and midnight Sept. 21 to 6 a.m. Sept. 22 in Boardman at U.S. Route 224 and Southern Boulevard. Crews will be working on the rail crossing.
Lowellville Day events
LOWELLVILLE -- Lowellville Firefighters Women's Auxiliary will host Lowellville Day in conjunction with Safety Forces Appreciation Day on Sunday.
Festivities will begin with a parade along Liberty Street from downtown to the high school football field at 12:30 p.m.
Other activities include demonstrations by a police canine unit, Life Flight helicopter crew, and United States Search and Rescue team, said Tonya Boggia, of the women's auxiliary.
There will also be a Jaws of Life demonstration, a display about bicycle safety, fingerprinting of children and festival attractions such as a dunking booth, hay rides, live music, concessions and bingo, she said.
