Rehearsal and reception tickets are still available at the induction dinner.
SHARON, Pa. -- If you really want to rub elbows with your favorite singers inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, you can still get tickets for the Rehearsal/Reception Dinner Monday night at the Holiday Inn-MetroPlex in Liberty.
It's an open seating event with the artists who will appear on stage at the Wednesday and Thursday concerts at Cafaro Field.
The groups will be rehearsing the songs they'll sing at the concerts.
Only about 100 tickets were being made available to the public, and some can still be had at $50 each by contacting the Vocal Group Hall of Fame at its Web site, www.vghf.org, or by calling (724) 983-2025.
There are a number of other events going on in what is really a four-day affair, and although Tuesday's induction ceremony is closed to the public, everything else is open.
Here's a rundown:
U10 a.m. Tuesday: Footprints of Fame in front of the Columbia Theatre at 82 W. State St., Sharon: About 100 inductees will put their footprints in cement wearing shoes donated by Reyers Shoe Store. The shoes will be autographed and then sold at auction at the concert venue. A DVD of the 2002 induction concert will be playing inside the Columbia Theatre during the ceremony, and admission is free. The DVD and CD of the concert will be on sale during the concerts.
U9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday: Harmony Education Workshop: Participating inductees will meet with area school students in backstage tents at Cafaro Field to discuss vocal harmony and the music business in general. The cost is $10 per student, which includes lunch, but only schools can register and bring students. Individual reservations won't be accepted. Details and application forms are available from the hall or on its Web site.
U1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday: Meet and greet the artists at the Center Court in Eastwood Mall -- a good time to get autographs. Meet and Greet will also be operating in the Fun Zone at Cafaro Field during the concerts.
