NESHANNOCK | School board session

The Neshannock Board of Education handled these matters Thursday:
Approved the retirement of Joseph Thomas, business education teacher, effective Oct. 1. Thomas, who has worked 40 years in the school district, also serves as treasurer and activities director for the junior-senior high school. He will continue his supplemental contract in those positions through summer 2004. Superintendent Dr. Michael Hink said the staff would absorb Thomas' teaching position.
Hired Russell Loudon as a physical education teacher for the elementary school. The vote was 6-2, with board President Frank Rondinelli and board member Tracey Stevenson voting no. Loudon's salary will be $33,541. Loudon, a 1989 Neshannock graduate, works for the Allegheny Clarion Valley School District.
Hired Susan L. Davis as a long-term substitute Spanish teacher for this school year at a salary of $33,541.
