Mercer, Lawrence districts receive state grants



SHARON, Pa. -- School districts in Mercer and Lawrence counties have been awarded state grants to fund programs teaching disruptive pupils.
The Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth Program enables schools to provide individualized instruction and behavior counseling to pupils who have trouble functioning in the regular classroom.
Grant recipients
UMidwestern Intermediate Unit IV, which provides services to Mercer, Lawrence and Butler County public schools: $34,260.
Mercer County:
UCommodore Perry School District: $6,230.
UFarrell Area School District/Crossroads Inc.: $89,000.
UFarrell Area School District/Farrell High School: $8,010.
UHermitage School District: $20,470.
UJamestown Area School District/Jamestown Archways Program: $6,230.
UKeystone Education Center: $8,900.
ULakeview School District/Lakeview Consortium: $17,800.
ULakeview School District/Lakeview High School: $11,570.
UMercer Area School District: $13,350.
USharon City School District: $20,470.
Lawrence County:
UEllwood City Area School District/Lincoln Alternative: $8,900.
