MERCER COUNTY Major roads to be repaired next week

MERCER, Pa. -- Motorists using some major Mercer County roadways next week should be alert for congestion and delays.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said ongoing concrete slab reconstruction at the intersection with Interstate 79 will cause lane restrictions for westbound traffic between mile posts 20 and 18. The ramps at that intersection will have some temporary closures Thursday and Friday as well for paving.
Traffic on Interstate 80 will be further restricted in both the eastbound and westbound lanes between the Mercer exit and mile post 28 in Venango County as crews repair and replace raised pavement markers.
There will be some short-term lane closures during that work.
Interstate 79 traffic will experience congestion at two locations because of paving. One lane on both the northbound and southbound sides of the road will be closed between mile posts 110 and 117 (the I-80 interchange) and the same situation will occur between mile posts 131 and 136.
Also, there will be lane restrictions on U.S. Route 62 between Zahniser Road and Mercer borough for paving and drainage work.
