I-79, I-80 traffic delays
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Motorists using Interstates 79 and 80 in Mercer County can expect traffic delays Monday through Friday because of road reconstruction.
Westbound I-80 near Grove City will have one lane closed. Both northbound and southbound Interstate 79 will be restricted to one lane in the same area.
The interstates cross each other in Mercer County, and there will be other delays because of ramp closures at the interchange Thursday and Friday.
The I-79 lane restrictions will occur just south of the Grove City exit and at the Crawford County line.
The I-80 restrictions will occur between mileposts 18 and 20.
Community harvest festival
MERCER, Pa. -- A community harvest festival will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 21 at Munnell Run Farm, one mile north of Mercer on Pa. Route 58, across from Mercer County Vo-Tech. Admission is free. The event will include local crafters, a Chinese auction, farm market, food, music, hayrides, open-pit cooking, face painting, a trout nursery and farm tours. Free bus transportation from the Jefferson Avenue Playground in Sharon to the event will be provided. Call (724) 981-6869 by Wednesday to reserve a seat on the bus.
Pymatuning Lake cleanup
LINESVILLE, Pa. -- The public is being urged to help clean up summer debris from Pymatuning Lake from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at shelter four near the park office and Linesville spillway. The cleanup, sponsored by Pymatuning State Park, is being held in conjunction with National Public Lands Day and the International Coastal Cleanup, an effort to clean up the world's coasts and waterways. Participants are asked to bring their own drinking water.
Later in the day, Ducks Unlimited will conduct its waterfowl exhibit in Linesville from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be environmental activities, wildlife artwork, presentations and numerous displays at the fish hatchery and game commission building.
